NEWS - NOVEMBER 2010
So, were still going through the motions with Dublin City Council and it's all looking very positive but boxes need to be ticked, forms submitted and all that fun stuff so it will take a while before we are back to any former glory. In the mean time we will be running smaller, car less markets that we are calling 'Mini Malls' which will be all the good stuff from the Carboot Sales condensed down into a smaller package.
NEWS - August 2010
As of August 2010, future Toejam Carboot Sales have been postponed due to a licencing issue with Dublin City Council over the space we use for the event. We are working hard with architects and officials to get this resolved and to get the market back on it's feet. We have been receiving lots of emails and notes of support since we announced this and are super grateful for them all, confirming what we felt ourselves already, that it's an event worth fighting for. No promises but indications are at present that we could possibly be up and running by Christmas. We'll keep you posted.
Thanks for all your support, you can keep an eye on updates either here, at the Toejam Facebook or at the Bernard Shaw Twitter
Since April 2010 we have made some changes to the back end organisation of the Carboot Sale. The new changes we made worked out quite well. The event is run far tighter without effecting the overall feel, infact, at a glance you'd hardly notice we changed anything and thats exactly what we wanted as the overwhelming feeling about the Toejam Carboot Sale was that it aint broke and there was nothing to fix.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I sell stuff at the Carboot Sale?
You need to fill in the application form. Each Carboot Sale date has it's own application form and we pick sellers on a case by case basis each time.
What are the criteria to sell?
The Carboot Sale is open to everyone and anyone but we like everyone to put in a bit of effort to make the overall event great. This means selling good and varied stuff, presenting it well, dressing up your stall and generally having a bit of fun with it. You'll notice on the application form that we have a couple of questions asking you what you sell and how you sell it. Take some time with these questions as we pick people off the back of them!
Car or Stall?
The market is made up of 16 Car Spaces and 16 stall spaces, when you are filling out the application form you can tell us if you want to bring a car or stall.
How much is it to take part?
As of April 2010 the costs are as follows:
Stall: €20
Car: €25
Food Stall: €45
After 2 years of running the event for free, we have had to introduce a small charge to allow us to upgrade some stuff and cover running costs.
I want to sell food at The Carboot Sale
We dont mind people selling small food items (ie cupcakes) at their stalls but if you want to apply for a food stall specifically then you need to apply seperatley by emailing john@bodytonicmusic.com.
As of April 2010 we will have a far better provision for food stalls with proper stands, cover, electricity and seating.
What are the times?
The Carboot Sale runs from 12pm - 7pm with the after party continuing til the wee hours inside The Bernard Shaw.
How much is it in? How do we get in?
