Foil, Arms and Hog are one of the funniest comedy sketch groups you will ever see. They have recently had an incredible run of sold-out shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and the Dublin Fringe Festival, and we are delighted to welcome them back to Nighthawks on October 28 th. Foil, Arms and Hog have also performed at Kilkenny Cats Laughs, Electric Picnic, Forbidden Fruit, the Galway Comedy Festival and the Vodafone Comedy Festival; and they also make regular appearances in The Savage Eye on RTE TV. SWEET JANE

Sweet Jane are a great live rock band who really know how to turn their amps up to 11. They will hit you with a huge wall of sound built on gorgeous melodies and infectious guitar riffs; and it’s not surprising that they frequently get compared to bands such as The Stone Roses and The Velvet Underground. Sweet Jane’s debut album, Sugar For My Soul, was released in 2010 to rave reviews, and the band are currently in the final stages of mixing their second album with legendary producer Pat McCarthy (REM, Lou Reed, Patti Smith). Sweet Jane have toured in America and Asia, as well as playing most Irish music festivals, including Electric Picnic and Oxegen. They were also invited to support Suede on all three of their Olympia gigs in Dublin last year. Sweet Jane are Danda Paxton, Neil Paxton, Ruairi Paxton and Donagh O’Brien, and their new single, ‘ I Wanna Be in Love’, will be released on October 26 th. Find out

THE AMBIENCE AFFAIR

Today FM’s Paul McLoone once described The Ambience Affair as “urgent, original and compelling” – and we couldn’t agree more. Jamie, Marc and Yvonne really are something very special. They released their debut album, Burials, in late 2011, and since then, they’ve been touring extensively, including a number of high-profile gigs with Lisa Hannigan on her sold-out Irish tour. The Ambience Affair were also featured on RTE’s Other Voices in March this year. This gig at the Twisted Pepper on October 28th will be The Ambience Affair’s last performance for a while, as

Kevin McGahern is a stand-up comedian, an actor, a writer and a man with very impressive hair. Kevin is also well known for playing the part of Sim Card in Hardy Bucks on RTE TV – and for appearing in this wonderful YouTube video. It really is a work of comic genius.
