BATS
Formed in 2006 by complex molecules, BATS have been dispersing their audio seed throughout Ireland and the rest of Europe with fervent vigour. Their debut E.P ?Cruel Sea Scientist? was released in late 2007 to much critical acclaim, and soon after the leatherwings were signed to independent label The Richter Collective. Their blend of visceral but catchy post-punk/hardcore/metal and scientific musings has attracted a wide spectrum of fans that continues to grow steadily.
Much of 2008 was spent writing new material and performing live with such heavyweights as These Arms Are Snakes, The Locust, Liars, Sebadoh, Chrome Hoof and Gang Gang Dance. In March 2009 these dynamic mammals crossed the Atlantic to record their debut full-length, ?Red in Tooth & Claw?, with Kurt Ballou (Converge) in Godcity Studios, located in the icy heart of Salem, Massachusetts.
HANDS UP WHO WANTS TO DIE
Hands up who wants to Die are four serious messers who got together in late 2008 to make music that would capture the zeitgeist and inner city pressures of the crumbling society that surrounded them in the Dublin, Ireland. Their songs have been described as heavy, noisey, hardcorey, as "off-kilter noise rock", and as "socially aware slab punk with constant discordant meanderings".
THE GUILTY OPTICS
Guilty Optics are an Irish three piece formed in Dublin in late 2008. The trio Mr Peter Lee - Drums, Mr Alan Finnerty - Guitar,Vocals and Mr Ruadhan O Meara - Bass,Vocals first emerged on to the scene in June 2009.
With often intricate melodies woven into heavy discordant riffs the Guilty Optics sound is a distinctive one over which both Ruadhan and Alan provide the vocals. A tasty audio treat of intense driving rock soaked in melody.
