POGO & 174 Present: EQUINOX & ROHAN (Bassbin)

Saturday 9th August 2008 :: 1 comment

A nice little line-up for 174 & drum n bass heads in the live room with Bassbin honcho Rohan back in town for the weekend. It's been almost 2 years since Rohan played POGO as part of his monthly Bassbin parties and has since been living & working his magic with the label from Barcelona.

He's joined on the night by London star & fellow Bassbin label mate Equinox. A favourite of many dnb fans in Dublin, and all over the UK no doubt, Equinox is at ease with all styles of drum n bass having pulled his influences from a wide taste of genres from dub, roots, soul, hip-hop, jazz to house & techno. He's released his more soulful sounds on top labels in the game like Bassbin & Breakin, while his heavier pieces have come out on Inperspective, Planet Mu & Goldie's Metalheadz. He also runs his own label alongside Breakage called Scientific Wax for the more underground & experimental sounds. This will be Equinox's 2nd appearence at POGO, his first definitely stands out for us as one of the best DnB nights in POGO to date.

Over in the club Eddie Brennan will be doing one of his headline boucning techno works out in the club, while Warm Music's Ali Tillett is in place for a nice dark n moody Berlin house style warm-up. Ali is one of London's busiest music promoters between hosting regular club events at the likes of the End, Fabric & Medicine Bar, managing an agency roster with top top acts including Ame, Henrik Schwarz, Dixon & Jazzanova, and he also in the process of setting up his own record label too, in between finding time for his own DJing too!

JB the Deejay & Genie will playing tag in the Pub dropping a fun selection of hip-hop, soul, funk & some edgier crunk & b-more bits too.
