POGO Present: B12 LIVE (Warp)

B12 began rolling on the UK techno & "early electronica scene" back in 1990 when most of us we're barely only going to primary school discos & getting butterflies in our stomach when the slow sets came on. The duo established their own label B12 as a source for releasing electronic music both for home listening & club dancing. For a time many thought they we're actually based in Detroit as their style fused similar sounds very similar to those coming out on labels like Plus 8 & Transmat. As well as having pioneering UK acts like Stasis & As One on their label, B12 themsleves churned out quite a selection of influential tracks under aliases like Musicology, Redcell & Cmetric and as B12. In '93 they were snapped up by Warp recordings and released their debut rocking album Electro-Soma (for the Artificial Intelligence Series) which has been compared to early Aphex Twin & Black Dog.
3 albums later on Warp in '98 B12 disappeared off the face of the music world without warning. Then in 2005 they appeared to perform a live show of their old material in London which had people clambering up the walls to get in, and not long after B12 were back in action with a new album on their own label, with a number of the tracks recorded at live shows in clubs like Berghain & Fuse too.
So we are very excited to have them in for a live show at POGO - a throw back to the early days of chuggin, jackin, acidy techno yet still sounding fresh today, which is why many say their sound some of the most timeless in electronic music.
