Stereotonic: Chicago to the NY
Friday 11th July 2008 :: 1 comment
Continuing our 20th Anniversary of House celebrations, tonight we pay hommage to the sounds of New York & Chicago, two of the most important cities in house music. The Chi-ites invented it while the New Yorkers set alight an thriving and highly influential underground clubbing scene.
Representing the NY side will be Conor "wishes he was Larry" Levan, donning his muscle vest, gold chain and applying some fake tatoos for the night. Representing the Chicago side will be Ben Morgan taking us on a tour of the evolution of Chi-town house right through to the jacking sounds of today. He'll need to gain a few pounds to really look the part.
In the bar Eoin Cregan & Jaycee will be pulling out some of the best hip-hop, soul, funk & disco-y bits to come out of the two cities too.
