I noticed the Guardian writers yesterday tip Liverpool as 2009/2010 Champions (Chelsea 2nd, United 3rd) and see today that Rob Kelly in The Telegraph has done the exact same

This is almost to be expected by now, almost all football writers are secret Liverpool fans and frequently tip them for success but they're at serious odds with the people who are putting real money on the line who would reverse that top 3. I can see one justification for downplaying United's chances considering how dependent we have been on Ronaldo but Liverpool's squad is notably inferior to ours and it takes some leap of faith to leapfrog them over not only us but a rejuvenated Chelsea too, particularly when they're down one of their vital central midfielders already and likely to lose the other one.
I'd expect some of the less realistic Liverpool fans to agree with the Telegraph and Guardian and I'd also expect United fans to disagree but what of the fans of other teams - who has it right, pundits or punters?
