Water Damaged CDJ

Some fucking muppet left a pumpkin on one of my CDJS and the damn thing has decomposed and leaked straight through the whole unit, I haven't turned it on and am wondering whats the best thing to do with it???

If I wasn't so pissed off with the whole thing I might find it funny...

probably a repair job, although maybe dry it out and cross fingers

dropped my iphone in jacks a while ago. thought it was fried. sent to to Apple , chance me arm, they sent it back saying 'external water forces' caused it . must remember that one next time i do it

anyway was almost not even gonna collect it coz i thought once the aul smartphones got any liquid in them they were toast, but anyways tried it before chucking in the bin and low and behold it turned on and has worked perfect every since.

so moral is , if ya leave it a bit , ya never know . failing that, probably a repair job should do it , looking at e70-100 im guessing

Hey,

You will be fine,Drop it out to AV imports, JFK industrial estate. Once no sticky substance has not got into it you will be fine, your looking at 165 euro to get it fixed tho, no matter if its a just fuse or a good cleaning.

Generally water damage to electrical goods results from shorting so if it hasn't been switched on you might be ok once it dries out. Of course if its gotten into the moving parts that's a good bit more serious as they could get gummed up

If i was you i'd open it up myself, get a can of compressed air and give it a good clean out. If it looks like there's sticky substance on the components you might be able to clean it yourself but if a lot of water got in there, what will probably happen is that eventually they will rust and then fail. But try it yourself before sending it off. You could save a lot of money. Paul

was told by the guys from cloney audio that ethenol alcohol is good to clean it with, but think i might drop it into a shop....

hasn't been turned on anyway, cant believe what a ridiculous scenario i find myself in! having used the decks around countless pints it gets done by a pumpkin!

cheers for the advice, going to give AV a shout in the morning
