Anyone know any good stuff to prevent this? I have a pretty sensitive nose at the best of times but the sun was out in force the other day and I'd say I sneezed nearly 50 times. My eyes were so red I looked like I'd been crying for hours. I've heard you can get an injection that sorts you right out?
Hay Fever
Yes Paddy, I feel your pain pal, my snout has been going mad since my trip to the rainy North West.
That injection is quite effective alright but the doctors only give it out as a last resort coz it can have some dodgy side effects. There's a few nasal sprays aswell, but they're wile uncomfortable to use and not they're not that great.
You'll just have to demand the injection.
I have it pretty much all year round...it flares up pretty badly when Ive been boozing actually. So frustrating and dishabilitating - i also work in a small studio with other people and it can sometimes be pretty embarrasing, sneezing/blowing nose all the time. Ive tried everything and sometimes the tablets work, sometimes they dont. Gonna ask my doctor about that injection.

The change in light levels will stimulate you to sneeze as you eyes will water when it detects the change in Lux, the overflow of tears then drains down your ducts into your sinus' thus stimulating a sneeze. It always happens to me in the winter due to the low level sun.
I'm sure if the RSA did a survey, this phenomena would be responsible for quite a few car accidents
yeah that always happens to me. never thought of it as hay fever though. just when my eyes catch the sun. i think you just gotta grin and bear it. or find a solution and tell me about it ![]()
That all sounds very plausible Ivan, but are you sure you don't just suffer from Photic Sneeze Reflex?
My asthma behaves a lot like hay fever at times, but the steroid inhaler usually sorts out those symptoms, temporarily at least. I presume the injection you're talking about above is something similar?
