this is seriously disappointing, whats going on?
its still a tenner in the offos, so a supplier price hike seems unlikely.
Buckfast now 18 Euro in Bernard Shaw. WHAT?
Yes, Im afraid so. We have had a significant price rise passed on to us from suppliers so we had no choice but to raise the price.
Heard lots of people complaining about this last weekend alright. couldn't give a toss myself, stuff tastes like treacle
tbh its not worth our while selling the stuff, never has been really , and the supplier hiked the price recently on it . in fairness to them they told whoever sells it internationally the effect it would have and they didnt give a bollix , so they can go fuck themselves as far as im concerned
we'll be coming out with a range of lower prices on drinks next week . plenty of suppliers out there are living in the real word .

Shouldn't the drop of 60c per bottle of wine apply here as set out in the budget?
probably does allright, but one of the reasons you never saw loads of pubs in Dublin copy us selling the Bucky is because in order to get a proper normal margin on it , you'd need to charge e20-25 for it . we constantly sold it at terrible margins because its what customers wanted. When they decided to increase the price on it, we just went fuck that. This was before the budget stuff came in, but even at e18 its still our lowest margin product .
tbh i'd nearly take it off the shelves , but some people love it so we'll leave it there for time being. but if anyone think we're making loads of lolly of it or something, need their heads examined

I would have thought that the one of the reasons that you never saw loads of pubs copying ye is because of its tendency to make people go completely batshit. In Scotland it is appropriately known as Wreck The Hoose Juice.
Perhaps you start selling YokeFast, a regional variation available in less salubrious Galway house parties.
