No Airbound in Croatia for 2010

http://www.airbound.net/img/hdr_home.png

Hi all.

As alot of you will probably already know by now or have guessed, Airbound Croatia will not be happening in Summer 2010. After the sell out success of 2009 this may seem a strange decision. The economics of running a festival of this scale are very tight and with the economic climate and indeed mood almost unrecognisable from when we first put tickets on sale for the first Airbound on December 2008, our feeling was that we needed to shelf Airbound the festival for 2010.

Alot of consideration has gone into this decision and we are quite confident that after looking at the facts we have made the right decision.

However, Airbound will very much stay alive as a name for fun parties and events we will be putting on outside of Ireland, starting with the Airbound Easter Boat Party on the River Thames, London on Saturday April 3rd. You can find out more info and book tickets for that here. We are on the look out for further party spots around Europe and further afield so stay in touch.

Thanks again for all the support over the last year and a bit. It makes it all so worthwhile! If you would like to get in touch with us about this or any other Airbound things, go to the contact form on Airbound.net

Cheers,

Airbound Team.

Personally I think your mad. This is the perfect time to be selling a hedonistic weekend outside of this country... I think the success of last year would make people more likely to save and spend their dosh at something like this compared to Electric Picnic or Oxegen. I know I would.

Worst news ever when i found out, have gotten over it at this stage, was thinking of going over for one of the other festivals but don't think it'd be as good.

Yeah its a shame alright. Last year was incredible. I had thought Mahon was yapping on a bit over the top when he came back from Croatia the previous summer, but nothing prepared me for how good it was when I got there last year. Only regret I had was that I wasnt there longer than 3 days

tbh we've loads of reasons for not doing it again, its not mainly or really 'economic' . did it once , went great, but there's no big future in it , i didnt go last year but all that did thought we'd get another 1-2 years out of it , then it would go stale coz the venue / site is a bit limited . if thats the case, doing it once, and not milking it is the best way to do it , alot to be said for less is more sometimes....

Pity..... It was quality festival, venue and village. So nice to meet many familiar faces again, under Mediterranean sun instead of pissing wet Irish summer.

OK, still, there is Electric Elephant. Their last year's line up is just incredible, perfect, like day dream. Can't ask more on line up wise. Hope they are still on this year with same quality.

Pity .. .was gonna go this year. Ah well cry
