Nicholaas Jaar - Eseential Mix

I enjoyed it but its not a mix I would listen to again

Sounds nice and would suit the start of a night sittin around with friends chattin as background music or at the tail end of a session.

Haven't been on Essential Mix site for a long time and I like the way they have snippets of the songs now so it makes it easier chasing tunes!

Love his album but thought this was mostly bollox. Out of two hours I'd say half an hour of it was decent.

I am in two minds about it. It's not what Iexpected from an eseential mix at all. His RA mix was one of my favorites last year.

Hmm its a strange one surely and although none if his mixes are bangers - this one sounds a little patchy on first listen anyhow - this is pretty dam decent :http://www.nialler9.com/11689-nicolas-jaar-dave-harrington-are-darkside/

all his mixes to date i've never liked on first listen, nor many do i like the whole way through, 1-2 i do . but all of them are growers and every one of them has a least one [ or many ] moments of pure genuis in them, i love 'em all for that

so ill give this one a few listens , for sure on first listen, it doesnt grab me. but all his stuff is like that, for me anyway....

on the button -

Think he makes powerful use of That Electric Prunes sample

Puts tracks together in a way that you just don't hear other artists doing, Bill Callahan into the Field being a case in point. Don't think it's as good as his RA podcast mind.

Also, the constant "Essential Mixxxxxxx" reminders would put me off listening to it again unless there's an uninteruppted version out there. That ruins all their mixes for me.
