If it was mick mc carthy in charge yesterday would of been different result in the end. Also would not of seen Ward on the pitch, Cox would not be brought on to the wing, as much he tries. James Mc Clean for funk sake !!!!!! I have no idea why any of you are surprised, it was always gonna be like this with trappatonni.

Most of that team last night played in PARIS in november 2009, so do not tell me that these group of players cannot pass the ball, play the ball and play decent footy ? We had the french in their own backyard, but for a cheating scumbag's handball we would of been in south africa 2010.

No-one is surprised at the style of football we played ffs.

So the penalty shootout against France would have been a foregone conclusion then Magoo?

Much and all as I don't like many of Trap's methods, they are what they are. We're not blessed with any quality, this is a piss-poor generation of Irish players. None of the team plays for top clubs. Our best players play for Aston Villa. Last night showed exactly how ordinary we are, although in fairness the two Russia games in the qualifiers did that as well.

Exactly, yes we were brilliant that night in Paris, but the fact of the matter is exactly as you say, we're not blessed with a golden generation by any stretch of the imagination. We have some good solid pros and a few exciting young players coming through, but we don't have the talent to out-play the top teams so we have to stick to a system.

Last night it let us down, badly, but the same system got us here, so it can't be all bad.

And with Italy having 7 Juventus players and Spain comprised of mostly Barcelona and Madrid players just shows the gulf in class, not to mention their game yesterday, brilliant game of football, we're surely gone, lets hope we can go out with our heads held high anyway and cheer on our neighbours accross the water tonight - France.

I can't see Ireland getting even a point in that group after last night!

Is this the same Ward that McCarthy signed and played week in week out for Wolves you´re talking about?

Bring back Roy keane

In my own humble honest opinion, trapatonni is way better club manager than international team manager. Also I would say that mick mc carthy is a better international team manager than a club manager.
