Opening January 31st, this new jazz night will run every Sunday evening from 6pm-9pm. The Sessions take place in ‘The Basement’ of The Twisted Pepper, 54 Middle Abbey St., will be run by two of Ireland’s leading young musicians, saxophonist Alex Mathias and drummer David Lyttle. They will lead groups throughout the year featuring some of the country’s highly acclaimed jazz musicians including Myles Drennan, Phil Ware, Ciaran Wilde, Linley Hamilton and Hugh Buckley, as well as guest artists from around the globe.

The last week of every month will pay homage to some of the legends of jazz such as Miles Davis, Charlie ‘Bird’ Parker, Julian ‘Cannonball’ Adderley and John Coltrane. There will also be an open jam session after ever gig from 8pm, so musicians be sure to bring your instruments!
