Soulwax Beatdown
Soulwax see the red mist in Liverpool. Klaxons get the boot in too
Eyewittness reports of a Bouncer's 'v' Soulwax Live stage fight from Liverpool last weekend are coming in think and fast.
Here's one:
OK, so this is what happened!! In Nation last night, in at Soulwax, up the very front, great atmosphere, not quite as good as last year but good!No one was particularily fooked, no one dancing on speakers, trying to get on stage -nothing!We were right up the front at the stage, and Soulwax came on, started playing everyone was dancing away happily and most people were strangely composed!!So the bouncers( about 3 of them) powered in pushing everyone out of the way and stood across the stage and wouldn't let anyone closer than about 4 feet from the stage!Soulwax were clearly pissed that the bouncers were doing this and after lets say, the 5th song the front lad in the band said "OK, were not going to play anymore tunes until the bouncers let you guys near the stage" (Or something to that affect!) to which the main bouncer lad screamed something up to him and he bent down and said something back to the bouncer, then, all hell broke loose! There were bouncers up and stage pushing Soulwax, they pushed back-the drummer got what looked like a vicious rugby tackle and then drum kit was knocked over, I didn't see them myself but there were a few people next to me pointing up saying the lads from the Klaxons were up in the middle of the disagrement ! It all looked pretty mental and Soulwax as you can imagine left the stage and building I presume and 2Many DJs never played!!Everyone was mighty pissed off, we heading into some D n'B though and that was great, there was a massive gap though in the times because of everything and we had to wait for about 2 hours or more for Green Velvet!
