Celemonys Melodyne software has always been an impressive piece of musical kit, with its extremely capable functions for correcting pitch in untuned tracks. However it has just taken a leap forward into some extraordinary magical world that we never thought possible.

From "Autumn 2008", a plugin for Melodyne will allow what they call Direct Note Access to already recorded audio tracks, enabling users to completely change the characteristics of pre-existing music, such as tone, pitch or even note lengths, without noticeable sound quality drops. Its pretty amazing stuff, but just watch the video below if you don't believe us.
