Justice Turn Down Madonna
Hate them or love them, there seems to be no escape from the Parisian electro giants Justice. Their trademark halogen crucifix has popped up at all the major festival around the world and in a matter of months the band has gone from warm up DJ slots to headlining massive arenas.
Hate them or love them, there seems to be no escape from the Parisian electro giants Justice. Their trademark halogen crucifix has popped up at all the major festival around the world and in a matter of months the band has gone from warm up DJ slots to headlining massive arenas.
All this press attention and critical acclaim has not gone unnoticed stateside. Mega producer Rick Rubin has claimed he is a fan of the Ed Banger label, (the home to Justice and Co), and online rumours have begun to circulate that the French duo could be in talks to produce some new tracks for stadium rockers Red Hot Chilli Peppers, (a band that Rubin has worked very closely with).
Owner of the label and the driving force behind Daft Punk, Busy P, has claimed Justice even turned down an offer to work with Madonna on her new tour. The band were asked to open up for Madge on her Sticky and Sweet tour but declined, “I had to explain to Madonna why Justice doesn’t want to support her on tour. It’s crazy,” says Busy. No reason was given for the decline but considering how Oakey’s career turned out after he opened up for Madonna, it may seem that the band want to hold onto their cool Parisian image as long as they can!
With only one album under their belt, Justice have definitely wrung out as much as they can in their live show. They are now apparently in the studio working on their follow up to “Cross”. No release date has been announced yet.
