Ed Patrick aka Kid Carpet is a self described “shit-hop” artist from Bristol. Carpet has been known to use children’s toys when making his tracks including Fisher Price Guitars and eh the Japanese virtual pet “Tamagotchi”!
His unique blend of electro and playschool has attracted attention from a very diverse group of artists which has resulted in him touring with everybody from Willy Mason, The Go! Team, The Arcade Fire and Mylo. His sophomore album “Casino Royale” was released on Rob da Banks label Sunday Best on the 30th June this year.
This “kiddy disco punk” has also just released his new video for his next single “Failed World Record Attempt”. The video has a very current Olympic Games theme but with a Kid Carpet twist.
Unlike Kanye’s shameless self indulging 4 minute tribute to the Games (and himself), Carpet highlights in his video what we all love about the Olympics- the accidents!
So check out the video below, it’s a hoot!
