Dont Buy the Music...Invest in it.

It’s no great news that the music industry is in turmoil. CD and record sales are at an all time low, labels are crumbling; the internet is literally bursting with the same indie/emo/electro bands and lack of funding means the acts that do have the talent are splitting prematurely.
Enter Bandstocks, a company that allows you to invest in your favourite artists in increments of £10. Once the acts has received enough money from investors and hit their set target, example £100,000, the band then begin recording an album.
As an investor in the band you will receive a copy of the album, a credit on the CD sleeve, priority ticket booking and most importantly a percentage of the profits from sales.
The venture was dreamed up by a music business lawyer Andrew Lewis and backed by the founder of Friends Reunited. One of the first artists who has turned down the major labels in favor of Bandstocks is 19 year old singer FrYars.
"I had the opportunity to do deals with a number of record labels but I'm confident about my music and the future of Bandstocks, which seems to be a much more honest and transparent way to release records," he said.
Lewis hopes that up to ten acts will be funded by Bandstocks in the first year.
