The Count of Monte Cristal and Sinden Comin' Through

You may have already heard that The Count of Monte Cristal aka Herve & Sinden have just recently been whipped up by the excellent Domino Records for an official release of their love it or hate it ringtone & UK garage inspired tune “Beeper”. The infectious track, which already won tune of 2007 in IDJ Magazine, sees a UK release on 24 March with a full length album also to land before the end of the year. With Baltimore hip-hoppers Spank Rock also recently signed to the label, it would appear to be the beginnings of a move for Domino to encompass the more clubby house, hip-hop & ghetto sounds into their edgy & alternative repertoire already packing acts like the Arctic Monkeys, Junior Boys, The Kills & Bonde Do Role. The signing is also a massive & well deserved move for Sinden & Herve themselves who’ve been ultra been ultra busy on the underground remix & re-edit front of late, and scooping up a lot of media & clubber attention for having kicked off the whole “bassline” house scene quaking dancefloors all across the UK. Sinden has also been managing his own label Counterfeet Records alongside Switch (who’s now based out in LA) which has already had 5 releases from Sinden himself & The Count, Solid Groove & French bassline-ists Radioclit, and was the label on which “Beeper” was initially released. The duo have a diary jam packed with touring dates every weekend over the coming months, some together, some separate, bouncing between cities in the UK, continental Europe & Australia. To top it off, Sinden has his own monthly “Get Familiar”@ Fabric to run with the some of the most underground & cutting edge acts in the whole house/hip-hop/Baltimore/baile funk scene from around the world. Although, with the album in the pipeline for Domino & a compilation for Counterfeet alongside fellow jackers Switch & Jesse Rose , they’re most likely to ease off the live shows later this year and settle into their studio to set some fresh basslines rumbling. Lets hope their neighbours are fans of the movement. For more check out www.myspace.com/graemesinden www.myspace.com/hervebeats www.myspace.com/counterfeet
