Lazy Beggers

A common misperception about beggars is that they’re all making a killing out of everyone else’s loose change and that they beg because they don’t want to do real work. The Lazy Beggers (their spelling) actually are. Lyndon and Jose have been travelling for the last five years as full-time beggars. Nothing new there, except these guys are hi-tech. They have their own website and you give them a handout via paypal. To date the largest single donation they’ve ever got was $250. Other donations they’ve got were a new laptop – to keep their website up to date, but mostly they just ask for beer, wine, joints and coke if they can get it. Lyndon is Welsh originally. He worked in IT before hitting the streets, that’s why the site is quite good looking for a pair of guys who are stoned or drunk for most of the day. Above the PayPal logo they have the words: ‘you don’t even have to go near the dirty, smelly beggars… you can do it cleanly, quickly, safely and lazily with PayPal’. They’re based most of the year in Spain, but they’ll happily come beg in your city too, if you wire them the price of a couple of flights.
