As some of you may know, Speaking In Code is a feature-length documentary about House and Techno music by director Amy Gill. Put together over three years and funded entirely by her and her ex-husband’s credit cards, the film was recently completed following on-location filming at Mutek, Sonar and the Miami WMC. The aim of the film is to bring the drama of "the evolution of a subculture in the digital age" from the screens to the viewer. It follows some of the more colourful characters in underground electronic music from robot builders who love to dance, rambunctious bad boy producers who love their mothers, vodka guzzling east German DJs and techno evangelists as well as featuring interviews with Modeselektor, The Wighnomy Brothers, Kompakt's Tobias Thomas and many more.

There is no official release date for the project as Gill is still searching for a distributor but it was shown to a select few at this year’s Sonar to great reviews all round and is currently being submitted to a number of international film festivals.
