Boo Hoo Booka
This is the second single from Booka Shade’s Sun and The Neon Light album, called Charlotte. Like anyone who’s been involved with clubbing for more than a few years, either through being a DJ, being a devotee or being the person running around collecting glasses and finding your jackets in the cloakroom, it knackers you out completely.
Substances aside, the late nights, the energy required to dance and the amount of new people you meet on any given night invigorates, but at the same time, exhausts. Booka Shade aren’t quite as burnt out as Ivan Smagge or MIA, but you can tell from the record that they’re no longer chasing the euphoria on the dancefloor, more chilling in the bar talking to someone about what they read that day in the paper. Charlotte is the most upbeat track on the album. Sun and The Neon Light, in spite of the title, is a dark record, way darker then Movements. Their set at this year’s Electric Picnic will be something to watch indeed. Enjoy.

Ah now. Not everyones cup of tea and maybe a bit cheesy at times but I still have to say that Booka Shade are pretty class.(But not many people like chessy tea either so I wont fault you with that) Movements is a class album and although I have only listened to the new one a couple of times it sounds pretty good.
Anyways, I like and...cant wait for the set at the Picnic after missing the last gig in Dublin!
gig in tripod was wicked!

Darker, but still completely rubbish.
