DJ Yoda - Bringin the Magic to a Screen Near You
World cutting & pasting wizard DJ Yoda is gearing up to take his brand new “Magic Cinema Show” on the road for one month around the UK & Ireland starting in Oxford on 29 April and ending in Liverpool exactly one month later. Already coined early last year as one of the best hip-hop DJs in the world alongside DJ Premier, DJ Yoda has also established himself as one of the most exciting artists at the helm of the Audio Visual DJ scene. For his new Magic Cinema Show, DJ Yoda has laced up a completely fresh set of film & animation treats to blend with his mix of hip-hop & party tunes which he can chop & cut into any direction he pleases both musically & visually. Across his 90 minute show, Yoda will be fusing everything from his trademark movie & cartoon themes that including the likes of High School Musical, O Brother Where Art Thou, Taxi Driver and Star Wars no doubt, through to his weird & whacky adverts, voiceovers & TV/radio programmes dating back to the early 20th century all playfully mixed with a mash-up of hip-hop, soul, funk, baile funk & crunk beats. For the tech fans, Yoda will be road testing Pioneer’s latest DVD mixing gadget; the SVM-1000, which he himself has played a key role in developing. At present, the SVM 1000 is currently only available to a select few DJs worldwide. If his previous AV shows are anything to go by, the Magic Cinema Show is sure to be a lot of fun - as his press blurb says, he has “created an incredible 90 minute show versatile enough to work equally well as a dance floor smasher or an eye-popping, pop corn munching spectacle”.
