Grooverider is Free

Following his arrest for possession of a miniscule amount of cannabis last November, Grooverider has been freed from Dubai prison as part of the pardons issued during Ramadan.

Following his arrest for possession of a miniscule amount of cannabis last November, Grooverider has been freed from Dubai prison as part of the pardons issued during Ramadan.

Sources have confirmed that the Radio 1 presenter and drum ‘n’ bass pioneer Dj is currently on board a flight back to London Heathrow.

Grooverider was sentenced to four years in prison in February and has been serving his time ever since. It is unclear as to what the future holds for the Dj, stay tuned to Bodytonic for all updates.

    Thats Fabio in the image above, good news though, he has a very young daughter at home so its good to hear hes free and can get home to sort things out, I think it was always going to be a case of early release, thankfully, they were just making an example of someone

    maybe this period of 'reflection' will make groove change his tune a bit, as he totally lost his way musically over the last 5-7 years, also yeah daz id say his appearance fee & all associated things will be alot different now, wonder who'll bring him to dublin?

    Really glad to hear this.

    Have to say, I was surprised at a lot of people's reaction I've heard when he was arrested, stuff like "he should have known better, it's a muslim country etc." Easy to say if you're not the one getting busted for it and facing a long sentence thousands of miles from family and friends
