Full Moon Reveller Still Missing

Friends of Danny Hall, a British backpacker who went messing in Thailand six months ago, have criticised Thai police for failing to look for him properly.

Friends of Danny Hall, a British backpacker who went messing in Thailand six months ago, have criticised Thai police for failing to look for him properly.

Danny was last spotted at an after party in the Backyard Bar following the islands hugely popular Full Moon Party in Koh Pha Ngan.

The Backyard Bar is a hillside rave club owned by Australian owner Niki Kursakul who claims that the club can sometimes be rough. However the night in question no reports of violence were reported in the venue.

Niki spoke to the BBC saying, “The bar isn’t near a beach but I suppose it’s possible he could have wandered down to the sea, gone swimming and got into difficulty,” she continued. “But a body would usually get washed up if someone drowned. If he’d fallen or had an accident near the bar he would have been found by now”.

Friends of Danny have become so disappointed and frustrated at the lack of police help that some have travelled over to the country to help in the search.

Roy Twemlow, a friend of Danny’s since university explained what happened when he visited Thailand recently to help with the search. “When I got to Koh Pha Ngan, the police knew very little about the case, they hadn’t even searched the area where Danny was last seen,” he complained. “It’s a bit of a disgrace really”.

The incident has sparked a supposed drop in tourism to Thailand with Thai Airlines reporting a 10% decrease in passengers for the first week of September.

The search for Danny Hall continues.
