Mystery Dubstep man Burial (recently revealed as South Londoner Will Bevan) has taken up a lot of [column inches] (http://www.bodytonicmusic.com/news/2008/aug/07/burial-revealed/) recently mainly revolving around his identity or lack there of.

However it seems the popular producer might make headlines for another reason if he wins tonight’s Mercury Prize. It seems bookies had Burial at 6/1 odds to win the award which sparked a huge influx of bets. According to William Hill, a flood of wagers and one monster gamble resulted in Burials chances of winning go from 6/1 to 4/7.

If Burial is triumphant it could see the bookies being forced to distribute a five figure payout.

"We would expect a gamble such as this to be for a huge band like Arctic Monkeys, not Burial," spokesman Rupert Adams said in a statement. "There must be something in the rumors and I would be very surprised if we don't get stung on this one."

Other artists nominated for the Mercury prize include Radiohead, Estelle, Adele, the Portico Quartet and Elbow.
