Chicago born Mark Farina is back again with another instalment from his highly acclaimed Mushroom Jazz series. The sixth installation in the series is a 20 track compilation which will be released on Om Records.

Fans of Farina will know the Mushroom compilation series is a mixture of jazz and underground hip-hop but with enough bass to keep the dance floor rocking.

The first Mushroom Jazz series was released in 1996 as a cassette and four more successful issues have followed.

Along with Patty Ryan-Smith, Farina also began the now renowned weekly Mushroom Jazz club night in San Francisco in 1992. The club closed after a three year run but it established a cult like following for Farina and the sound he was pushing.

The sixth installation of the Mushroom Jazz series is out on October 21st.
