Bomb The Bass star Tim Simenon has recently cleared his name following a date rape allegation four years ago.

In 2004, Tim was arrested after a women he met in a bar told police that he’d forced himself on her at a house party. He was then put on trial for rape in 2005 which nearly ruined his career.

Simenon told the jury that he had consensual sex with the women and after a mere three minutes of deliberation, his name was cleared.

After the trial, Tim spoke out very publicly and angrily about the name and shame campaign that could have ended his career, “I was accused and it was in the papers long before the trial had even begun. I feel names should not be available to the press before the outcome as characters, careers and livelihoods can be destroyed and never restored”.

Tim’s career began in the mid 1980s Dj’ing at London’s Wag Club and is regarded as one of the pioneers of acid house. He has also produced tracks for Bjork and Depeche Mode.

Bomb the Bass’s new album “Future Chaos” is out now.
