Back From The Grave

The End to re-open.

Last January saw the closure of one of London’s most famous nightclubs The End. The club was sold to make way for a new property development but alas the economy thought otherwise and the development has been put on hold. The Club will re-open on May 1 as The Den and host gay night Popstarz on Friday and Nylon on Saturdays.

Full listings are not yet confirmed but check out their website here for more.

Cause it's a club space slap bang in the centre of london, why wouldn't somebody use it if it's not been knocked? The End was massively over rated anyways

    what a lazy shit name

  • Sledgehammer255 @ 27 Apr 2009 19:21

It was over rated by djs. And the end is not re-opening...shouldn`t be made out like that. The End is dead!

But they did put the value soundsystem in the old end a few times.....that is historical stuff..:)

Afterall, its London's Temple theater or Redbox alike, big money geberating box,
    not Wax/Traffic/Metropolitan.

Cater for tourist clubbers and pillheads IMO.

Are you implying there are no Pillheads in Wax/Traffic/Metro/TP/EP/Womb Shinya? And tourist clubbers are not that bad, how else could you go to EP without you yourself being a "tourist clubber"?

You know if someone from here goes to Berlin for the weekend clubbing and takes pills they tick both those boxes.

for sure not all the line-ups particularly in the last few years woulda floated my boat, but this is a club that Garnier played legendary sets in and was home to Hawtin, Marky and co for years when they came to london. I was only in it twice , and both nights were poor, but the main room was an amazing space and by and large the guys who ran it , did it for the right reasons and did it well for a long long time. gotta respect that

    >>yogy

Of course some amount of chemicals consumed there is inevitable and very important
part of partying/clubbing culture and I dont dislike it at all. Haaaaaaving it, loike.

Some randomers in clubs is good as well, to make place/vibe fresh, new blood. And
you are not running clubs as charty so need to earn some money to survive for sure.

But if I can smell "only" money, marekting team and yokes that is something wrong.
ATM machine beside bar says a lot of the nature of The End

PS.... Womb is donwfall for last 1 year, and anywIay its never been my fav club in Tokyo as its way
too big and lack of peronal feeling to me.... I dont get why foregin press rank this place so high.
Bit like saying Redbox is all and best part of Dublin clubbing culture.
