Transmat, GPR, Aubrey Return
Late 80s/early 90s revival continues.
Three middling-to-large names are preparing a comeback: Derrick May's Transmat; the GPR label, and UK producer Aubrey. Legendary Detroit label Transmat is about to be reactivated by boss Derrick May. It's rumoured that Greg Gow's 'The Bridge' - a track May has been including in his sets - will be featured. Meanwhile, General Production Recordings - home to the likes of Black Dog and Luke Slater's 7th Plain - has appeared on Myspace with a promise of unspecified new releases. Finally, Solid Groove-r Aubrey - creator of the classic 'Liquid Groove' album - is promising a new double LP after his comeback single, 'Aqua Warrior', which is due on August 18.
