Defected Records Turn 10

UK house label, “Defected Records” is set to celebrate its tenth birthday this February.

To mark the occasion, the label will embark on a world tour which kicks off at The Ministry of Sound on Saturday January 24th.

The label is also set to release a commemorative “10 Years of Clubland Adventures” album. The 5 CD pack hosts 60 tracks and a live show spanning a host of the labels impressive musicians and vocalists.

Defected’s first single was “Cant Get Enough” by Soulsearcher, and the label has gone on to release nearly 200 singles.

The success of the label has sometimes resulted in a backlash from fans saying that the releases have become too commercial.

Some of the acts that the label have worked with include Bob Sinclair, Junior Jack, ATFC, Sandy Rivera, Ame and Masters at Work.

they've done some good stuff and some bad. what label hasn't . overall though house music needs a defected records label, they have their place. 10 years is no mean feat

Mood II Swing - 'Cant get Away' was on defected and thats a decent tune. Anyone first getting into house a few years ago would have always picked up a defected 12". Kinda like people starting into trance picked up tracks on Positiva .
