Following the shocking deaths of 19 people at Germanys Love Parade over the weekend, it has been announced that the event will no longer take place.

The trouble occured when thousands of people tried to gain entance to the site where the event was taking place through a single tunnel. This resulted in mass panic which left people trapped and crushed in the tunnel.

Kevin Krausgartner described the scene to Welt Online: "There were 25 people lying in a heap. I screamed – people could no longer get any air. I saw dead people, and one person was sitting there looking extremely pale. I wanted to give him some water, but the ambulance medic told me there was no point as he was already dead."

The blame has been pointed at the organisers with people asking why an event that attracts over 1 million people was put on in a town that fits 500,000.
