Taking care of business
The Caretaker returns with a soundtrack to a thankfully not-imaginary film...
We enter the new year with a new work by The Caretaker, Patience (After Sebald) out now on History Always Favours The Winners
Originally recorded before 'An empty bliss beyond this World' 'Patience (After Sebald)' forms the soundtrack to the Grant Gee essay film of the same name which can be caught on selected release in the coming months.
The film is a walk through of the W.G. Sebald book 'The rings of Saturn'. You can read more about the film and its release here. Grant can also be seen in conversation about the film via The Guardian.
The audio is based solely around the very earliest recordings of Franz Schubert's Wintereisse.
Yet again this new work is available on vinyl which has been lovingly cut and mastered by Lupo at Dubplates. It's also housed in another wonderful sleeve featuring artwork by the amazing Ivan Seal.
The first three-hundred are available on blue vinyl.
Compact-Disc and digital release will follow in February.
