BodytonicLive 03 : Tittsworth
Washington DC native Tittsworth has been bubblin' under in the B-more scene for a good few years now alongside the likes of Scottie B, Say-Wut, Aaron La Crate & Spankrock, and it looks like he's about ready to pop large with the release of his debut album "12 Steps" this Aug on Stretch Armstrong's (the dude responsible for breaking Wu-Tang) Plant Music label.
Tittsworth has hooked up with a nice selection of MCs & vocalists for the album including Kid Sister, Pase Rock, Pitbull, Nina Sky & hyphy vets The Federation and has been a big step up for him spreading his wings beyond the world blog & club remixes.
His Baltimore club sets comprise of a heavy high energy mash-up of grimey hip-hop, crunk & hyphy, cranked up bassline & house/electro and you're likely to hear a crate load of his own productions, re-edits & bootlegs thrown into the mix. The following podcast will paint the picture perfectly for you (it includes some of the upcoming tracks off 12 Steps too). Turn it up & your neighbours will love you forever...
We also caught up with him for our quick podcast questions...
The biggest Influence in my Life
Besides Popeye's Chicken my biggest influence is probably music. I have an almost unhealthy relationship with music as I backseat nearly everything else. Still, it has kept me focused and happier than I've ever been.
The internet
is so necessary (mainly for porn). Being a college drop out, I was able to still make decent money (in porn, kidding, in I/T) and even now I find so much of me depends on the internet. Being a successful DJ/producer almost demands you be internet & technology savvy. At the same time, it reduces attention spans, speeds up musical trends and blurs some ethical lines when it comes to content.
If I could turn back time
I wouldn't change much. Maybe I would have gotten a better grasp on my substance abuse a little earlier on in life. I see myself as pretty lucky for surviving certain points (most of which I don't remember but I'm told were really fun).
The funniest thing I ever heard
The sound of me taking a dump, on my tour mate's hotel room floor.
Food and music
Are my two passions in life. I am surprised by how much they have in common. I am a very adventurous eater. If I were to suddenly to deaf, I would consider culinary school. Although being deaf and not able to hear oven timers, I would probably burn a lot of things. Maybe a sushi chef would be best ;-)
The happiest moment
was probably when I quit my full time job and start living my dream. Just before that was probably one of the most demanding points in my life though... I was working a full time job, balancing 3 residencies, regular out-of-town gigs, selling weed, doing hair, doing nails, haha. I did everything I could to get my debt paid off, my car paid off, buy health insurance, etc. so that I wouldn't become another broke musician statistic.
One place you should definitely visit
An area of devastation. For example, New Orleans...minutes away from the spring break stop is a humbling view of total wreckage. That city will never be the same and I think in a lot of ways we failed as a country to address its needs. There are countless places around the world that fall into this category.
The best food in the world
Is so often not the best for you. Japanese is amazing in that it's fairly easy to eat food that is tasty but healthy. For this reason it's some of the best food in the world in my eyes.
The best advice I ever got
Don't fry bacon in the nude.

http://www.discobelle.net/2008/08/06/tittsworth-mix-album-releaseparty/

seem like the same mix is been flogged around different blogs/forums just switching the title.
We're the only ones with wonderful interview questions of course though ;)
Our streaming podcasts aren't always going to be 100% exclusive. I guess this one is doing the rounds quite a bit as Tittsworth has his album coming out next week so he's getting this out as promo.
Love this mix, really looking forward to him coming over here in Oct too.
Back like that remix is sweet..i rem Marky playing that in crawdaddy. Ass shakingly smooth :)
