BodytonicLive 10 : Erol Alkan presents Disco3000
Erol Alkan presents Disco3000
Erol Alkan was the resident DJ and founder of legendary London club night Trash. Located at The End nightclub in Central London, its ten years saw performances by Peaches, LCD Soundsystem, Klaxons, Bloc Party, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Electric Six and many more up and coming bands.
One of the worlds most interesting and charismatic DJs, you could surmise that he created the defining sound of an entire clubbing generation. These days, you can also find Erol producing a number of different bands, as well as being one half of the psychedelic rock act Beyond the Wizard's Sleeve. He has produced for The Long Blondes, The Klaxons, Mystery Jets' second album, Twenty One and Late of the Pier's debut record, Fantasy Black Channel.
Here, he's kindly donated one of his best mixes from his own website and brings us a podcast of a very different flavour to what many may know him for, exhibiting his love for obscure disco records, while keeping that distinct Erol Alkan party style.
Keep tuned to BodytonicTV in the weeks to come for an exclusive video interview with Erol himself.
Check out more about him and his podcasts at his excellent website or his Myspace and Facebook pages

Jaysus..this is surprisingly good. Wonder if all the cool skinny jean kids in the world will start playing disco records now!
Funny you should say that.
Dalston and other places where your skinny jean friends hang out have all seen a massive surge in Disco nights.
This was hapening before this mix though.
Sometimes Dazboy, DJs/fashion designers/produders etc reflect what is going on on the streets after the fact.
I have skinny jeans, they really wont let me buy the music i want, I reach out but just stops
It'll be back to bellbottoms next.
