Bodytonic Podcast 056 : Sven Weisemann
Sven Weisemann hinted something was brewing with his recent 'Xine Zero' 12" - alongside his usual crystalline, modernist take on house, he presented three offerings that moved leftfield. Now, the German producer uses his debut album 'Xine' - a collection of 20 excerpts that reflect "an imagined journey through all aspects of life' - to further explore this area. The result is quite beautiful - a modern classical-meets-electronic beat tape that will surprise and delight. The limited edition book version of the release is long-gone, but the equally nifty digipack release is out now. We asked Sven to put together some records that inspired 'Xine', and this is what he came up with...

some of his productions are amazing. beautiful music . Zine Rising is one of the best tracks i've heard this year. Winters Tale is great too
damn, this is some cheesy stuff... sounds like a pretty random collection of music, unfortunately. not to keen on his album, too.. sorry guys :)
cheesy ? are you having a laugh...
have seen him spin twice recently. serious fuckin dj.
He has some decent productions. love this one : SLICES : lars behrenroth remix, 9 minutes of deepness :)
Havn listened to the podcast 3 times over the last two days and generally appreciating the need for dj's to think outside their boxes etc....as a mix it does nothing for me personally, its a million miles from any of his productions imo, each to there own i suppose.
this isnt trying to be a 'mix' though, just a collection of music he likes and was inspired though. doesnt mean you have to like or agree with the selection mind, but its not a mix per se
i love this..... can see myself listening to this selection a lot more on a sunday evening relaxing.... beautiful music..
thank you bodytonic
Sven has always been a debating point with myself and others, especially his mixing style. His tracks in the past have been amazing but I have found lately he's losing that passion his early tracks had.
I saw him at Freerotation over the summer and for me his set was one of the best. If you were at the front and saw the guy he was having the time of his life and that's what you want to see in anyone trying to get over people dancing, not some serious head.
Haven't checked out the latest album of his but the feedback seems a bit mixed?
Astounding set for a late night listening. Thank you Bodytonic !
