Meet the artist: Tania Kelley

Related Content

Tania Kelley has hopped from Sydney to New York to London and now Berlin as a vagabond photographer for the past ten years. She doesn't like to talk about herself, so this interview was like pulling teeth from a bear. Less traumatising are her landscape and portrait shots which, according to us, are just beautiful.

Has your job ever got you laid, free drink, arrested?

I'm not sure if my job was directly responsible.

What did you want to be as a kid?

Nothing in particular, I was a bit of a dreamer, I always had grand ideas of how my life would be. I knew I wanted to do something unconventional and I knew I would travel.

What's the best tool of your trade?

Flexibility, and the ability to stay relatively calm in stressful situations, or at least appear so.

Why did you choose these three images?

These are three of my favourite images. I work mainly as a fashion photographer but i most enjoy taking pictures of people and places

how would you describe them to a blind person?

Still and calm, yet full of possibilities / Modernly romantic.

If your art was music what would it sound like?

Something moody, something energising. It depends, my taste in music is varied.

Slate yourself?

I have trouble bigging up myself.

Big up yourself?

I find it hard to be disingenuous, or maybe that's a fault... somebody help me out here!

How far have you gone for your art?

I've just moved from sunny Sydney to bleak Berlin!
