Carl Craig's Orchestra

We have some nice footage of the magical moment when classical music and techno met in Paris.

The event took place in October this year, when Carl Craig performed with the Les Siecles orchestra at Cite de La Musique for a one-off event that would rewrite a certain portion of music history.

As if that wasn't enough, Moritz Von Oswald was involved too, composing, with Carl Craig, the re-interpretations of Ravel’s Bolero, Rhapsodie Espagnole and Mussorsky’s Pictures At An Exhibition.

Les Siecles were established in 2003 to provide an outlet for young, talented musicians to experiment with classical music.

The event was called Versus, and was anything but, proving starched shirts and high tops can get along just fine.

Carl Craig is playing the Twisted Pepper this Saturday, but sadly won't be bringing the string section.

François Xavier Roth, musical director and conductor of the “Siècles” orchestra: “There is no hierarchy in music, only a quest for high standards”.
