430 West will release a compilation of Octave One remixes in November called Revisited (Here, There and Beyond). Made up of varying combinations of the Burden brothers (Lawrence, Lenny, Lynell, Lorne and Lance), Octave One is one of Detroit's most celebrated productions outfits. In the past two years they tapped a group of other techno artists (Sandwell District, Aril Brikha, Cari Lekebusch, Vince Watson) to remix their tracks and released the results on a 12-inch series called Octave One Revisited. Here, There and Beyond collects these remixes and throws in a couple of old favourites, like Alter Ego's 2002 rework of "Blackwater." The collection was put together by Lawrence and Lenny Burden, and includes their own reworks of "Dema" and "Meridian."

Describe your typical day...

Up at 5:30am most days chatting with our agent, doing emails and other online site work, 9am starts the business side of what we do whether it be label matters, equipment repairs or whatever. Hopefully we can make it In the studio by the evening and vibe until we just can't listen to another sound or rhythm :) This is usually Monday thru Thursday when we usually are flying out to come to our gigs overseas.

Techno is...

The freedom to be able to express ourselves in the art we so love and admire.

An Octave One live set is...

A ball of energy that just engulfs your mind, body and soul.

Too many to name just one

^ And why

Because it introduced the youngest of our brothers into the group, plus the song grew from the true underground and crossed many genres of music.

Don't have one at the moment.

Future plans for Octave One

Working on a sample cd project, a video for soon to be released single and heading to the studio to start a special project for an artist we admire and appreciate a lot :)
