Arne Weinberg, head of Diametric Records has been staying true to his beliefs for as long as we have known him. Timeless deep techno tracks on his own AW-Recordings imprint along with releases on stellar labels such as Echocord, Matrix, Technoir Audio, Frantic Flowers, Styrax and many more - check Discogs for the downlow...

Valanx is the new project of Arne Weinberg. After deciding to stop releasing under his own name, the project is focusing on his new-found passion for electronic music beyond the techno productions he is best known for. This first album is the result of liberation and recovered inspiration in the studio, and the ability to express musical experimentation without boundaries. This is how Arne Weinberg sounds in 2012. Valanx stands for edgy, dark, sinister and thoughtful electronic music without limiting rules such as club compatibility, crowdpleasing or certain expected structures, tempos or sounds that confine most of today’s musical genres. Everything is possible, expect the unexpected. 300 limited LP copies incl. manufactured CD version. No digital distribution. Release date of March 26th - calendar it in people. www.diametric-music.com.

Arne generously took some time out from playing the XBox...eh, we mean being busy in the studio to share a a week in the life...

Monday

"Enjoyed the christmas holiday, tried to recover from a serious hangover and spend a lot of time in the studio, working on some ideas. Haven't left the house all day, fantastic to be able to stay at home. Played some xbox aswell.... I guess I'm living a pretty boring life, hahaha..."

Tuesday

"Pretty much the same as Monday, slept long and enjoyed the fact I don't have to go to work. Again worked in the studio on my new album ""Xenolith"" under my new project name ""Valanx"". Created some serious strange and sinister stuff."

Wednesday

"A little bit of grocery shopping, again playing Xbox (Fallout 3 again and again) and lots of studio work. I was considering to go to town into a local record store to buy some nice new music, at the moment buying lots of progressive rock from the 70's, but decided against it due to constant rain here in Scotland and also the fact that probably every person in Glasgow would be in town for shopping and to spend their money on things they probably don't need. I will never understand why city centres are even more busy AFTER Christmas than before. Consuming madness. Watching television and being disappointed by the dull programme. Sleeping early."

Thursday

"Early morning, brought our sweet little kitten Peach to the vet to get her neuterized. Today is also my wife's birthday, so we went for a superb meal at a brilliant little Thai restaurant in Glasgow city centre. Best curry ever! Spending the day with my wife in town, picking up our poor little kitten in the afternoon. Peach is doing well and everything is good. No studio work today."

Friday

"Went to the gym for a long workout in the morning. Again working in the studio. Haven't been so creative in a long time. My new project really inspires me. Really happy about that obviously. Started work on the artwork for the new album. "

Saturday

"New Years Eve.... went to the vet with Peach for a quick check up. All good and as usual everybody was adoring here. Well, she IS a beauty.... Back home, chilling with the missus, watching tv. Talking for a long time with my mom on the phone. Started to prepare our traditional New Years Eve dinner in the late afternoon. Spent a long long time sitting in our huge kitchen with my wife, talking about god and the world and eating and drinking in the evening. We then decided that we can't be bothered with the shebang at 0:00 and decided to go to sleep instead.... booooring, I know... ;-)"

Sunday

"Started working in the studio early and finished the recording of my album. In total 23 tracks recorded, 12 will make it onto the album. I'm excited and happy about the result. The rest of the day is spent with a lot of label work and again further work on the artwork. Mentally preparing that I have to go back to work again very soon. Oh, and some xbox playing again aswell.... Not a typical week in my life but actually one I really enjoyed and I wish I'd have more of these."
