Jin Choi is a musician, producer, DJ and live artist based in Berlin, Germany. In his music he equally focuses on groove and melodic structures, which are based on Techno, House, Soul and Dub. Themusic fuses electronic and naturalistic sounds, which are twisted, bended and whirled for an always bubbling and breathing rhythmic experience. Functionality does not stand in the spotlight of his tracks – his music is supposed to touch emotionally and to move the head and the body as well.

His new music is not necessarily my cup of tea anymore, but I still was fucking jealous about this ;). Of course Namito has deserved it.

Burial - Untrue

One of the most amazing releases ever regardless of decade and genre. Sound, message, arrangement... all amazing and timeless. You can't bring music more to the point. Burial created a totally unique language. Listening to this album feels like breathing.

What a masterpiece. It nowadays sounds slightly dated. But it is a big piece of music.

A punkrock club in Bonn, Germany. I think it was called Bazooka. I was playing guitar in a hardcore band. It was 1988 or so.

Actually all gigs somehow were exciting. I love to play. Even bad shows were good in a way.

No specific highlight to be honest. I always love it, when I can touch the people somehow with my music. And that happens most of the times I play.

The person I would most like to share a stage with would be…

I could not name a specific person. I just basically hate it, when the line-up somehow is not consistent musically, which makes it tougher to connect with people.

If I wasn’t a musician/DJ I would be a…

A painter, writer or film maker. I love creativity of any kind. Music is one dimension, painting and writing are totally different ones... I love to explore all of that.
